End Of Discussion For Gov Wike

The Supreme Court would today deliver judgment in the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike challenging the jurisdiction of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal to hear the petition against his election in Abuja.




Wike’s counsel, Chris Uche (SAN) had argued that the relocation of the tribunal from Port Harcourt to Abuja is a breach of section 285 (2) of the 1999 Constitution and provisions of the Electoral Act 2010.

The tribunal chairman, Justice Suleiman Ambursa, who led a three-man panel in his judgment on Saturday, cancelled the election of Wike.

Lassa Fever Claims 2 More Lives in Plateau, Spreads to Ekiti...See Alarming Details

The re-emergence of lassa fever in Nigerian seems to get bolder as the disease spreads out to even more states across the federation.   Lassa fever has claimed two more lives in Plateau, the state government confirmed on Monday in Jos, the state capital. The state Commissioner for Health, Kuden Dayin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the victims died at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on Saturday. The latest development brings to three, the number of persons so far killed in the state, after the commissioner confirmed the death of one person at Ting village in Fombur District of Mangu local government area last week. According to Mr. Dayin, relations, friends and health workers, who came in contact with the latest victims, have been placed under surveillance. 8 Reported Killed and 15 Injured as Bomb Explosion Hits Motor Park

  We  reported few hours ago  that there was another bloodshed in the north-eastern part of Nigeria with members of the deadly Boko Haram sect fingered in a fatal attack.   The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) disclosed on its Twitter page that a bomb exploded on Wednesday morning at a motor park in Borno state, adding that the explosion happened around Muna garage in Maiduguri, the capital of the state.     The agency disclosed further that at least eight people are reported to have died in the explosion while 15 injured persons were said to have been evacuated to Specialist and Teaching Hospitals in Maiduguri.   NEMA sayid emergency workers were en route to the scene of the bomb blast.
