Nigerian soldiers   The list of about 30 people who were arrested by the Nigerian military for allegedly helping the Boko Haram to sell rustled cows, has been revealed.   The list which was excusively obtained by Premium Times, shows that the arrested people include at least four serving soldiers, two police officers, and some members of the civilian-JTF   The Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Lucky Irabor, had confirmed the arrest of the 30 people at a press conference in Maiduguri on Wednesday.   According to General Irabor,  “those who have been aiding and abetting Boko Haram by way of encouraging cattle rustling ; so far we have arrested 30 of them, many are civilians and we have among them four soldiers and two policemen.     An American Airlines plane has caught fire in Chicago.   The right-side engine of the Boeing 767 failed Friday during an attempted takeoff, sending debris as far as a half mile and passengers hurriedly down emergency slides onto a runway at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.   According to CNN, three sources familiar with the unfolding investigation revealed that the General Electric engine suffered an apparent "uncontained" failure.   The 161 terrified passengers and nine crew members scrambled to safety Friday afternoon after huge flames erupted on the right side of the plane.   Airport fire Chief Timothy Sampey said crews responded to a report of a No. 2 engine on fire. The plane, which had stopped well before the end of the runway, had about 43,000 pounds of fuel.   "This could have been absolutely devastating if it happened later,"  he said.       About 20 people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries

Abba Kyari   The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Abba Kyari, says he was not suspended as insinuated in some quarters, according to the DailyTrust. The Chief of Staff clarified that he was only on leave and had resumed. "Are you going to tweet that I am back?" , he asked State House correspondents on Friday while coming out of the president's office. Asked to react to reports that he was relieved of his appointment, Kyari quizzed:  "I don't go on leave?" But when he as asked to speak on camera, he said:  "I don't talk to the press. You know my job doesn't hold me talking."   Reports had earlier emerged that President Buhari had sanctioned the probe of Kyari over media allegations of bribery in the tune of N500 million to help prevail on the Federal Government to reduce the fine slammed on the South African company by the Federal Government.

Governor Olusegun Mimiko   There are indications that Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko has perfected plans to defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The governor on Friday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.   Checks by  Leadership  newspaper reveal that Mimiko is looking for a soft landing hence the purpose of his visit to the president. However, speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting with the president, he expressed reservations over the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible election in the state. The governor based his assertions on the announcement on Thursday by the electoral body that Jimoh Ibrahim is the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in the state. According to him, the action of INEC is potentially dangerous as it can cause a breach of peace in the state.

File photo used only for illustrative purpose   An early morning bomb attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, has killed at least six persons.   Witnesses revealed the incident occurred on Saturday morning.   According to Premium Times, twin blasts, which echoed across the city, occurred at two different spots, about 1km apart.   The first blast went off at about 7a.m. at a coffee drinking spot near the Bakassi IDP camp, along the popular Maiduguri-Biu road.   “Six persons were reportedly killed in the blast and have been evacuated to the hospital,”  said Yunus Musa, a resident of the area.   Shortly after that, at about 7.35a.m., another blast went off in a tricycle near the NNPC fuel depot along Damboa Road, killing a woman and the rider.   The victim   This is the moment a man was photographed after he was killed by a lorry in broad daylight while he was sleeping under the vehicle.   The incident reportedly occurred in a Lagos suburb on Saturday.   According to a witness, the deceased was sleeping under a driver's lorry, obviously tired from working long hours.   However, unfortunately for him, the lorry owner didn't know there was anyone sleeping under his vehicle and so moved out.   The man was crushed and died on the spot.   See another photo below:
