Cut the Rope by Seldom Bonket

The night fell heavy in the heights of the mountains & the man could not see anything. The moon & the stars were covered by the clouds. 

All was black. Zero visibility. Only a few feet away from the top of the mountain as he was climbing,  he slipped & fell into the air, falling at great speed. He could only see black spots as he went down & the terrible sensation of being sucked by gravity.

He kept falling. And in the moments of great fear, it came to his mind all the good & bad episodes of his life. He was thinking now about how close death was getting, when all of a sudden he felt the rope tied to his waist pull him very hard. His body was hanging in the air.

Only the rope was holding him & in that moment of stillness he had no other choice than to scream:
“Help me!”.

Then he heard a voice from the Heavens. " Cut the rope"

" What? "

" Cut the rope"

There was a moment of silence & the man decided to hold onto the rope with all his strength. The rescue team tells that the next day a climber was found dead & frozen. 

His body hanging from a rope. His hands holding tight to it. Only one foot away from the ground.
The story may not be true but holds a great lesson. 

How different are we to that man? 

Do we put our confidence in some "rope" & hang on to it as if our living & dying depended on it? 

How attached are we to our efforts, to our belief that things will only happen due to our hard work & that we make the world go round?

Isn't it time we cut the rope & let go?

20ft Greedy Python Swallowed an Antelope and Choked to Death (Photos)

The huge python died moments after swallowing the antelope whole   In a shocking incident on Monday morning which is believed to be the first of its kind in a local village, a greedy python who had eyes bigger than its belly and swallowed a fully grown antelope, reportedly chocked to death in an attempt to regurgitate its meal, but failed.      According to a report by  Dailymail , the 20ft-long python who had swallowed the antelope after strangling it to death, was seen rolling around with an abnormally large belly in Baliavad village, near Gir wildlife sanctuary in the Indian state of Gujarat as crowd of onlookers gathered to see the python writhing in a desperate attempt to survive.     A 28-year-old man identified as Sunil Kumar, who witnessed the entire episode, said:  'I found the python lying on the road. A 25-year-old man has brutally clubbed his father to death in a fit of anger after an argument ensued between the father and mother. Mfreke Effiong clubbed his father to death with a stick A disagreement between a husband and wife has led to the murder of the husband by the 25-year-old son, Mfreke Effiong, from Ikot Akpainyang Asutan village, in Ibesikpo/Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. On the fateful day, it was gathered that Mr Archibong and his wife had a disagreement over family issues when Mfreke who was away in the farm arrived, picked up a log of wood and clubbed his dad to death.
