What is the definition of CRIME PREVENTION? 

“The anticipation, recognition, and appraisal of a crime risk and initiation of action to remove or reduce it.” Effective crime prevention is proactive rather than reactive.

· Learn to be proactive! Being proactive means attempting to prevent something from occurring in the first place.

· Have SITUATIONAL AWARENESS! This means pay attention to your surroundings so you can identify potential threats and dangerous situations. You have to be “aware” before you can be proactive.

· Take responsibility for your own safety. Be aware of “problem areas” and make an informed decision whether or not to put yourself in that environment.

· Awareness and training are two of the most important tools to reduce criminal opportunity.
· Be aware of the social, economic or political climate of a particular environment.

· Pay attention to your GUT FEELINGS, even when you are busy or distracted. Many times after a violent crime occurs, the victim would say that they had a bad feeling about the person or the place.

YOU are responsible for your own safety! Law enforcement cannot be everywhere. YOU have to make good decisions.

· If you are confronted by a violent individual or a gang: Stay Calm. Don’t escalate the situation. Try to get accurate descriptions. Don’t argue. Comply with requests. As a last resort, physical fighting. Give up your property—your car, cell phone, money, wallet or whatever they ask for. 

What are you willing to die for? The majority of the time, they just want your money or your property.

20ft Greedy Python Swallowed an Antelope and Choked to Death (Photos)

The huge python died moments after swallowing the antelope whole   In a shocking incident on Monday morning which is believed to be the first of its kind in a local village, a greedy python who had eyes bigger than its belly and swallowed a fully grown antelope, reportedly chocked to death in an attempt to regurgitate its meal, but failed.      According to a report by  Dailymail , the 20ft-long python who had swallowed the antelope after strangling it to death, was seen rolling around with an abnormally large belly in Baliavad village, near Gir wildlife sanctuary in the Indian state of Gujarat as crowd of onlookers gathered to see the python writhing in a desperate attempt to survive.     A 28-year-old man identified as Sunil Kumar, who witnessed the entire episode, said:  'I found the python lying on the road. 25-year-old Man Clubs His Father to Death Over Disagreement with Mother (Photo)

A 25-year-old man has brutally clubbed his father to death in a fit of anger after an argument ensued between the father and mother. Mfreke Effiong clubbed his father to death with a stick A disagreement between a husband and wife has led to the murder of the husband by the 25-year-old son, Mfreke Effiong, from Ikot Akpainyang Asutan village, in Ibesikpo/Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. On the fateful day, it was gathered that Mr Archibong and his wife had a disagreement over family issues when Mfreke who was away in the farm arrived, picked up a log of wood and clubbed his dad to death. A priest has shocked people when it was alleged that he lost all the money meant for refugees while gambling.    Father Amer Saka   Police have launched an investigation into Father Amer Saka,  a Chaldean Catholic priest from London, Ont., after church officials reported more than $500,000 slated for refugee sponsorship was lost to gambling.   According to The Star, Father Amer Saka, a priest working at the St. Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church in London, is under investigation after telling his bishop, Emanuel Shaleta, that funds intended to help new Canadians had instead vanished in vice, Shaleta said.   “He called me on the phone and . . . said he lost all the money. Jim Nwobodo   A former governor of the old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, has dumped the Anglican Church and reported had his wedding in the Catholic church barely 24 hours after he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress. The former information minister, who was equally a presidential aspirant and senator under the PDP, tied nuptial knots with his wife, Patricia, at the Catholic Bishop’s Court, in Enugu.
