Nigerian Politician, Tony Anenih Loses His Wife and Son to Death

The National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with former Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, on the death of his wife and son.
 
In a condolence message by Mr Dayo Adeyeye, National Publicity Secretary of the committee, on Tuesday in Abuja, said it was heart-breaking for a man to lose wife and son within short intervals.
 
Mrs Patricia Anenih passed on at 74 in London on April 16. Anenih’s son, Mr Eugene Anenih, died on Sunday at the age of 51. Both are yet to be buried.
 
According to the statement, the party identifies with Anenih’s agony at this trying period.
 
Adeyeye said, “your wife’s untiring support in an extremely busy and action packed political career cannot be overemphasised. Her departure must have left you with so much sorrow”.

“We believe in your capacity to overcome these painful losses. May the Lord grant you and your family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“We pray that you will not sorrow again in the remaining days of your life. May the souls of the departed rest with the Lord in perfect peace.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the deceased was buried after a commendation service by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Saturday. Speaking at the burial ceremony, Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa said Alamieyeseigha’s demise was a trying time to the people of Ijaw nation. Deeper Life Church Ordered to Pay Celestial Church N5million

The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division has ordered the Registered Trustees of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) to pay N5 million as damages for trespass on land owned by the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC). This means that the Appeal Court upheld an earlier judgement by a Lagos High Court.     It was gathered that the CCC had, through its representative, Joseph Ebhodaghe, sued DCLM over a disputed land measuring approximately 1055.864 square meters, situated at Mulero area of Agege and registered as No. 75 Volume 2004T at the Lagos State Land Registry, Ikeja.   At the High Court, Justice Candide-Johnson in a judgment delivered on January 17, 2014, declared Celestial Church as the rightful owner of the disputed land and awarded N5m as damages against Deeper Life.   The court also granted a perpetual injunction restraining DCLM, its agents or servants from further trespass on the disputed land.   But, DCLM dissatisfied with the ...

Lucky Irabor, disclosed this at a news conference in Biu on Sunday.   He said the arms and ammunition were hidden in bunkers made by the terrorists.   A SEMA official gathering the remains of the suicide bombers   Three suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers have died in an attempt to attack Muna Garage, Dabarmari and Dusuma villages in Maiduguri metropolis.   The incident occurred at about 4:38am on Sunday morning. Only the three suicide bombers all males, were affected by the blast.   Officials of the Borno State of the Emergency Management Agency were on ground to santize the area of the bombing and evacuate the remains of the bombers.   See the photos below;
