Transport Minister, Amaechi Hails Goodluck Jonathan During Town Hall Meeting

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Tuesday, commended the immediate past administration of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan for embarking on massive projects that have been beneficial to Nigerians, according to DailyPost.
 
While speaking at a Town Hall meeting in Abuja, the former Rivers State governor said his Ministry did not meet any comatose project on assumption of office.
 
Instead, he announced that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration continued the projects of the previous administration because “We realised the impact of the recession.’’
 
Amaechi noted that the Kaduna-Abuja railway was nearly 80% completed by the Jonathan’s administration.
 
He said, “In the ministry of transportation, we did not meet anything comatose. We met an attempt to bring back our rail services.
 
“The Kaduna-Abuja railway was nearly 80% completed which we commissioned and commercial services have commenced.’’

Alex Badeh   Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja on Thursday, October 27, 2016, admitted another thirteen exhibits tendered before it by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the ongoing trial of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshall Alex Badeh (rtd), according to Sahara Reporters. Badeh is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside his company, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, for allegedly abusing his office by using the dollar equivalent of the sum of N1.4 billion (One Billion, Four Hundred Million Naira) removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, to purchase properties in choice areas of Abuja between January and December, 2013. See How Much Each State Collected as Federal Allocation for the Month of July

President Muhammadu Buhari   The thirty-six states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have collected a whopping N673.324billion as their share of statutory allocation and first tranche of the excess crude earnings distribution for the period.   According to a report by ThisDay, a document from the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation titled:  "Distribution of Statutory Allocation and Excess Crude Proceeds to the three tiers of Government in July 2016"  showed that five of the states: Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Kano, catapulted themselves to the two-digits wrung with each carting home between N10 billion and N25 billion.   Similarly, Nasarawa and Ekiti States received N4.508 billion and N4.732 billion respectively.
