The Horrible State of Obohia Road in Aba, Abia State Could Move You to Tears (Photos)

A netizen based in the south-eastern part of Nigeria has exposed the poor state of roads in a part of the state which requires urgent attention.

These are different sections of the Obohia road, in Aba, Abia State as shared by angry social media user resident in the area.
 
According to the poster, he claims there has been false reports that the road is under contruction and has been applauded by people blindly without due investigation about the authentity of the media claims.
 
In the words of the social media user:
 
"You needed to have seen how people were suffering today, immersing their legs in such dirty and disgusting waters. I don't want to talk of PH Road, Ohanku Road, Ngwa Road, and even Ibere road, where houses and other structures were severely destroyed without any serious steps to put the road into the right structure and state.
 
"Those photos you are viewing or rather about to view, are basically Obohia Road, you're yet to see other Roads and if u've not been in Aba for a very long time. Ypu would wonder if the Roads were meant for abandoned Apes"
 
A public call is being made to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state to rally round and attend to the wounds of the people.

Gunmen Abducted Paramount Ruler’s Pregnant Wife

Chief Asuquo Abia, the Secretary, Traditional Rulers Council, Esit Eket, told NAN in Esit Eket on Saturday that the gunmen invaded the palace of the paramount ruler in the wee hours of Friday morning. No fewer than 10 unknown gunmen on Friday night kidnapped the pregnant wife of Ubong Assam, the paramount ruler of Esit Eket in Akwa Ibom. The gunmen also abducted the four children of the traditional ruler. Abia, who is also the Village Head of Afaha Akpenedi, said the gunmen shot sporadically for over five hours from 1.30 a.m. to 6 a.m. “The gunmen destroyed part of the palace with dynamites and broke into all the rooms and carted away valuables,’’ he said. Joint Task Force Arrests Top Commander of Niger Delta Militant Group

  A top Commander of the Urhobo/Isoko militant group, Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM), has been nabbed by the operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) code-named Operation Delta Safe.   It would be recalled that the NDGJM kickstarted full scale militant operations in the oil rich region after the foremost group Niger Delta Avengers announced a ceasefire after a tentative agreement with the Federal Government. Security sources told ThisDay newspaper on Monday night that the high profile suspect was apprehended on Sunday after diligent surveillance by JTF operatives.
