Buhari Sacks the Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration

Federal Government may have sacked the Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service.
 
According to Vanguard, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government have sacked the Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Martin Abeshi, who was appointed to replace former Comptroller General, David Parradang, who was fingered in the tragic 2014 recruitment saga that killed many Nigerians.
 
The reasons for his sack were not immediately known as at the time of filing this report but it was gathered that government’s decision may be connected with his handling of the recent replacement in the service. 
 
It was reported that some staff of the service were seen jubilating when the news filtered into their headquarters. The replacement, which was terribly abused by power brokers in the country, saw the CG allegedly employing his third wife and his eldest son into the service. 
 
Both recruits were said to be under-going training in Kano. At the time he was appointed in September last year, Abeshi had already been slated to proceed on a three-month terminal leave beginning from October 2015. 
 
It was gathered yesterday, that Abeshi had been having running battle with some of his deputies and assistants, DCGs, and ACGs, who were not happy that the Comptroller General was still in office when he ought to have retired from the service since December 2015 but allegedly lobbied his way back to the seat.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State has suffered a set back as two former commissioners, Local government Chairmen and two former Lawmakers defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC.    They claimed that over 5000 of former PDP chieftains dumped the ruling party for the opposition Party according to the Vanguard. SSS 2 Student is Stabbed to Death During Football Match in Lagos

    A young boy has been stabbed to death during a friendly street football match in Okota, Lagos after the match turned violent.   One of the players stabbed an opponent to death at the weekend when the misunderstanding started.   According to Vanguard, some youths from Oseni Liade Street were playing football at the end of the street, when a group of boys from neighbouring Taiwo Street came to join them. But the visiting youths were told to wait for their turn.   At the end of the first round, another set of players, among who were the visiting youths, were expected to take over the football pitch.   But eyewitnesses said they were disallowed, an action that degenerated into a fight. The controversy surrounding the probe of the $2 billion dollars shady arms deal has continued to gather more steam as the EFFC uncovers more embezzled funds.
