#Football News: Manchester United to announce Mourinho as new boss
Manchester United are poised announceJose Mourinho as Louis van Gaal 's successor whatever the outcome of today's FA Cup final, according to reports in Spain.
AS claim the Reds will sack the Dutchman even if they beat Crystal Palace at Wembley.
And the Spanish publication says former Chelsea boss Mourinho has signed a pre-contract agreement with United and will take up a three-year agreement once Van Gaal has been dismissed.
The report suggests United will make the announcement quickly after the cup final.
It is believed negotiations have taken place between United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward and Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes and, despite some reticence among the Old Trafford board, an agreement has been made to appoint the Portuguese.
Van Gaal's failure to secure Champions League qualification for United - and the team's lacklustre performance in the tournament this season - appear to have sealed his fate with a year remaining on his contract.
Mourinho has been out of work since his Chelsea exit before Christmas.
He previously worked under Van Gaal at Barcelona and the pair remain friends.
