Dangote Opens One-stop Shop In Onitsha

One of Nigeria's most successful conglomerates, the Dangote Plc, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Bontus Group of Companies based in Onitsha for the supply and distribution of all Dangote products in the commercial city.
 
Director in charge of Dangote in the South East, Mr. Tunde Mabogunje signed for his company, while the chairman of Bontus Group, Chief Uche Okafor, signed for his company.
 
Okafor said at the signing ceremony that with the agreement, all Dangote products, including sugar, cement, noodles, rice and tomato, would soon flood the eastern part of the country at very competitive prizes.
 
The South East director of Dangote, Mr. Mabogunje, said in addition to sugar, salt, cement and other products, his company would launch its brand of rice before December 2017, just as Dangote tomato would soon be in the market

Police Nabs Lagos Fraudsters Who Defrauded Forex Trader After a Hot Chase

Men of the Nigeria Police Force have overpowered Forex fraudsters after giving a hot chase. Rapid Response Squad   The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State Police Command, have arrested two suspected fraudsters who swindled a victim of his N10,000 and two mobile phones in Ojota area of the metropolis. Leadership reports that the suspects identified as Jerry Etiobho, from Edo State, and Emeka Ogu, from Imo State were said to have escaped from their victim identified as Lawan Muhammed but the squad gave them a hot pursuit and succeeded in arrested them. According to the police, the suspects had accosted Lawan Muhammed on Saturday, November 21, 2015, around Ojota, pretending to be seeking his assistance. The police said Etiobho pretended to be an importer whose goods were seized by the Nigerian Customs. He lied to Muhammed that he had a lot of dollars to change. The burial of the former governor of Kogi state and candidate of the APC in the inconclusive governorship poll in the state , Prince Abubakar Audu, takes place today at Ogbonicha in Ofu Local Government Area. Audu was buried at 2 pm Monday afternoon. The burial rites were conducted by a team of Imams . Before his burial, men and women of faith engaged in fervent prayers to bring Audu back to life. As the prayers continued, some people started shouting loudly that he had risen. This led to assertions that Audu came back to life. Rumours quickly spread wide. Explosion Rocks Shell Trunkline in Ogoniland, Rivers State (Photos)

Trunkline explosion in Goi community   A trunk line which belongs to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) carrying crude oil in the Goi community in the Ogoniland area of Rivers State was engulfed in fire and flames on Monday morning.    An environmental activist, Celestine Akpobari, who visited the site, disclosed that the inferno occurred just a few meters away from a military surveillance post. According to her, the fire immediately followed the sound of an eruption affecting the Agbada/Bomu trunk line.   "Goi, another Ogoni community, is on fire this early morning from an eruption on the 28-inch Agbada/Bomu trunkline belonging to Shell, which is just a few meters from the surveillance post. Josh Webb killed his mother   Police in Oregon say a man entered a grocery store over the weekend while carrying the severed head of his mother before allegedly stabbing a cashier seven times.   According to Inside Edition, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Josh Webb and charged him with murder and attempted murder after the horrific scene unfolded at the Estacada Thriftway outside Portland.   In a 911 call placed at about 2 p.m. Sunday, the caller reported a male had entered the store, soaked in blood and holding a knife and what looked like a human head.   Before the shock had a chance to register with witnesses, the scene somehow grew more terrifying as cops say the assailant stabbed a cashier multiple times with the bloody knife, according to KGW.    In a subsequent 911 call, a witness told the operator that employees had restrained the assailant and requested medical help for the victim.   Minut...
