Just Two Hours After Giving Birth, Woman Dumps Newborn Baby Inside Plastic Bag

The woman was caught on CCTV as she dumped the baby

A woman has left many in shock after she dumped her baby inside a pink plastic bag just two hours after giving birth where it later died.

Police have now arrested the 20-year-old mother, identified only as Wang, thought to have been uncertain about who the child’s father.

She was said to have dumped the baby because she had no stable income.

Reports from Wangjiaoqiao village, located in the city of Kunming, capital of southwestern China’s Yunnan Province, said the abandoned pink plastic bag was spotted by locals who were shocked to find the newborn inside, reports news.com.au

The child has now been taken to the police for emergency treatment but could not survive despite frantic effort by nurses and doctors.

After investigators watched surveillance footage from the village, they discovered the child was carried across town by a woman wearing a red coat and black trousers who later discarded the bag a distance from her home.

After police located her, she reportedly confessed to abandoning the child just two hours after she gave birth, but she gave no clear reason behind her actions, refusing to answer questions regarding the infant’s father.

If found to have murdered her baby before discarding it, Wang will be subject to further charges on top of those she currently faces.
