Governor Olusegun Mimiko's Chief Security Officer is Shot Dead

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State   Some men suspected to be armed robbers on late Wednesday evening attacked and killed the Chief Security Officer of the  convoy of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Mr. Idowu Oyewole, at his resident in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Punch reports.   The criminals numbering about three shot Oyewole who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police in his house located at Akure -Owo road, with members of his family. The man's son, Dare said his father was eating when the gummen entered into their house at about 7pm .   Narrating how the incident happened, Dare said his father was informed by one of the neighbours of the arrival of the bandits. Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been left out of Manchester United's Europa League squad. The ex-Germany captain, who has trained alone or with the Under-23s under new boss Jose Mourinho, was named in their 25-man Premier League squad on Friday. The 32-year-old World Cup winner retired from international football this week after 24 goals and 121 caps. Eighteen-year-old defender Axel Tuanzebe has been named in United's 27-man Europa League squad. Schweinsteiger signed a three-year deal in July 2015 but was told by Mourinho last month that it would be "very difficult" for him to play again for the club. United begin their Europa League campaign away to Dutch club Feyenoord on 15 September. They are in Group A along with Turkey's Fenerbahce and Zorya of Ukraine.

Stella Oduah A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday dismissed an application by a former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, asking ‎for an order stopping the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the police from arresting her with respect to ongoing investigation into corruption allegation against her. The case of fraud has been lingering over the years with no breakthrough by anti-graft agencies investigating the alleged abuse of the commonwealth. Oduah had filed the fundamental rights enforcement suit, asking the court to prohibit the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office, the EFCC, and the police from “inviting, arresting, investigating or prosecuting” her over the purchase of two armoured BMW vehicles at a cost of N255m by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority under her watch as the Aviation Minister in 2013. A man rented a house and moved in with his family. After 2 years, the rent was increased from #400,000 to #500,000. He didn't complain because he liked the house.  The following year, he couldn't come up with the money and the agent was on his neck. The wife saw what the husband was going through and decided to help.
