The Africa’s Representative in the World
Youth Assembly, Amb. Marvin Yobana has defected to the ruling All
Progressives Congress, APC.
It could be recalled that on his birthday on December 31st 2015,
APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside predicted
that a tsunami would soon hit the PDP in the state. Since then, it has
been a gale of defections from the PDP to the APC.
Latest is the defection of Yobana, who was a key aide to the former first lady, Patience Jonathan, and a strong member of the PDP.
He was received by the chairman of APC in Rivers State, Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside, Senator Magnus Abe, former SSG, George Feyii, APC secretary in Rivers State, Emeka Bekee, among others.
Yobana confirmed to newsmen that “I have indeed shifted my loyalty to the ruling APC. The APC breathes hope and that is what we want for our youths.”
In the meantime, there is palpable apprehension in the camp of the PDP ahead of Supreme Court’s verdict on the appeal filed by Governor Nyesom Wike, following the nullification of his election by the Election Petition Tribunal, a judgement that was equally upheld by the Court of Appeal.
