For the first time in Nigeria's political history, an elected governor has today been sworn-in in a historic inauguration without a deputy as wild jubilation ensued from thousands of supporters.

There was massive jubilation by thousands of supporters on Wednesday, January 27th, as Alhaji Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was officially inaugurated as the Governor of Kogi State in a historic swearing-in ceremony held in Lokoja, the state capital.

His deputy, James Faleke, who was nominated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not present for the swearing-in ceremony.

Some party chieftains who attended Wednesday’s inauguration include the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun as well as the governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Al-Makura and the Minister of Communication Technology, Adebayo Shittu.
