Sim Shagaya Resigns as CEO of Konga Nigeria

Popular business mogul, Sim Shagaya has stepped down as the Chief Executive Officer of one of the largest online shopping stores in Nigeria.

Sim Shagaya, founder of Konga, one of Nigeria's leading online store, has resigned his position as CEO of the e-commerce store.

This follows his appointment as the new chairman by the Board of Directors.

In a mail sent to Konga staff, Shagaya said the development came following a visit to the company’s investors in Amsterdam. For now, Shola Adekoya, Chief Operating Officer at Konga, will take over as the interim CEO, until the board appoints completes its search and appoints a new CEO.

In his new role, Shagaya will become less involved in the day-to-day running of the company and focus more on the long term vision and strategy of the company.

President Buhari   In a statement issued on Wednesday by Segun Adeyemi, the special adviser to Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, the President Buhari-led federal government has appointed Bayo Onanuga, editor-in-chief of TheNews, as the managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).   In all, six new chief executives have been appointed to replace those who were disengaged in some parastatals of the federal ministry of information and culture on February 15th 2016.   The new Chief Executives are:   1. Good News! Missing Nigerian Soldiers in Boko Haram Attack Return to Base

Nigerians have been given a relief with the representative of the Defence Headquarters debunking the news of the 105 missing soldiers which he described as exaggerated by the media.   The Nigeria army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman in a statement late Thursday night said  soldiers missing after a Boko Haram attacks  in Gudumbali and Kareto in Borno State have rejoined their units, according to the DailyTrust. Earlier on Thursday, media reports said some 105 soldiers went missing in action ‎after they engaged Boko Haram terrorists. Usman's statement described the incident as a slight setback for the Nigerian troops operating in the Northern Borno State towns of Gudumbali and Kareto, saying, the situation was being stabilized. He said that  "The troops have re-joined their units for further action."‎ " Earlier media reports were exaggerated. The CO (Commanding Officer) is currently with his soldiers,"‎ Usman added.
