Again CNN Makes Blunder, Refers to Nigeria As a North African Country

Global media magnate, CNN has failed to get its geography right as it makes an epic blunder when referring to the location of Nigeria in Africa.
 
Nigerians have been rather amused by an error made by global media powerhouse, CNN.
 
While reporting about the oil-exporting prowess of Nigeria, CNN did not get their geography right and referred to Nigeria as a North African country.
 
 
Many Nigerians have asked whether we are that inconsequential in the global economy or if it is just plain poor research and journalism.
 
This is not the first time the global media power house will make an error about Nigeria.
 
Early in 2015, CNN made a blunder while reporting the Chibok girls kidnap. The reporter was heard saying “Tonight it now feels as if the world is aware and responding to the kidnapping of 276 girls in Kenya three weeks ago today.”
 
Also in 2010, a BBC series on Nigeria’s most populous city, Lagos, featuring the lives of slum dwellers, drew criticism for its potrayal of the city, which many felt was not accurate.

How I was Captured into Slavery - Ajayi Crowther Writes in 179-year-old Letter

Professor Ade Ajayi’s book on Crowther, source of this letter   Ajayi Crowther was ordained as the first African bishop of the Anglican Church. However, his background was rough. He was 12 years old when he was captured, along with his mother and toddler brother and other family members, along with his entire village, by Muslim Fulani slave raiders in 1821 and sold to Portuguese slave traders. In his Feb 22nd, 1837 letter to Rev. Boko Haram Bleeds Profusely as Gallant Nigerian Troops Strike Again (Graphic Photos)

  Read the official statement below:   Troops of 26 Battalion, 151 Task Force Battalion, 155 Task Force Battalion and some elements of 21 Brigade have carried out a joint clearance operations to destroy remnants of Boko Haram terrorists camps and enclaves in the early hours of today in several villages in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.   The villages include Kircha Goniye, Wujjah Alkelu, Kita Jiddum, Jameri, Geri Gana, Gere Kura and Jabe. Other villages cleared by the troops were Hasana Jere and Chachile. During the operation, own troops came in contact with elements of the terrorists group during which 2 of the terrorists were killed.
