Ex-Presidential Aide Storms PDP's Head Office, Declares Himself Chairman As Leadership Crisis Deepens

An ex Special Adviser to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, has declared himself the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party as the leadership tussle takes new dimensions.

A former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Ali Gulak, has stormed the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to take over as chairman.

According to Premium Times, Mr. Gulak arrived the party’s office Wednesday afternoon.

He relied on a ruling by Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, who, on December 16, ordered the acting chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, to vacate office and allow Mr. Gulak or anyone from the north east region of the country take over.

Mr. Gulak, who addressed journalists briefly at the National Working Committee hall at Wadata Plaza headquarters of the party, said he was assuming office after another court on Wednesday ruled against Mr. Secondus’ suit seeking to stop the execution of the December 16 ruling.

Mr. Gulak said the PDP must not be left “headless” following Wednesday’s ruling.

He said his immediate task as acting chairman is to “take the party back to the people”. He said members of the party would be taken along in the administration of the PDP.

Students and staff of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta are happy following the suspension of their VC   Staff and students of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) were elated following news that their embattled Vice chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole has been suspended by the Federal Government as a result of series of petitions bothering on alleged mal-administration and financial malpractices.   The staff openly fried akara (bean cake) in the field to celebrate the exit of the embattled VC. Ex-NNPC Boss Allegedly Runs Away from Nigeria as EFCC Hunts Him

  The former DG of NNPC who was linked to an alleged $1.6 billion money laundering and oil deals involving former Petroleum Resources Minister Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke is nowhere to be found in Nigeria.   According to  The Nation,  the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently looking for him for interrogation over the matter.   The man is believed to have sneaked out of the country since he could not be located in all his Nigerian addresses.   Also, 50 workers of the corporation are undergoing internal probe for an alleged N15billion retail outlets fraud.   NNPC management has sought legal advice on whether to hand them over to the EFCC.   The Nation reports that the EFCC has sought NNPC’s help in locating the former GMD for interaction on some aspects of the ongoing probe of Mrs Alison-Madueke.   But, in its response to EFCC’s letter, NNPC said it could not locate its former helmsman. ...
