Arms Deal Scandal: Did Supporters and Friends of Olisa Metuh Abandon Him in Court?

As the travails of the embattled spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party continues, it would seem that he has been left to his fate as suggested by the turnout during his trail.

In what appeared to be a dramatic turn of events at the Federal High Court Abuja, the typically large crowd of political supporters and associates of the embattled Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, were conspicuously absent.

According to Sahara Reporters, the scene was in stark contrast to the large number of his supporters who have previously gathered in front of the court. Even his entourage of political associates, who typically accompany Mr. Metuh to the court, were conspicuously absent.   

The PDP Public Secretary is currently facing charges for his alleged collection of N400 million from the former National Security Advisor (NSA) Colonel Sambo Dasuki. He has been unable to meet the bail condition granted to him by both Federal High Court and FCT High Court.

Lagos to Impose Death Sentence on Kidnappers

Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode Lagos State Government may soon join the growing number of states including Edo, Ogun and Anambra that have imposed death sentence on kidnappers, Vanguard reports. According to a private member bill sponsored by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, “any person, who kidnaps, abducts, detains or captures or takes another person by any means or tricks with intent to demand ransom or do anything against his/her, will commit an offence, and liable to a conviction of death sentence. The bill, which is titled: ‘A bill for a law to provide for the prohibition of the act of kidnapping and for other connected purposes,’ went through a public hearing in the State House of Assembly, yesterday. An artists took a really fatal step to show frustration when no one showed up to see his work on his most important day. Stuart Bennett   An artist, Stuart Bennett, has hanged himself after no one attended the launch of his new art project which he had spent a lot of time on. 58-year-old Bennett, organised an opening day at his studio because he wanted to start teaching art to children.
