Obasanjo Finally Replies Jonathan's Letter In Harsh Tone ..Read the Letter


In a chain of exchanges between both politicians, former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has told the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan to show remorse.

In a letter to Dr. Jonathan, which is a reply to an earlier one to him from the immediate past President intimating him of his plan to start the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation in the third quarter of 2016, Obasanjo said: “I have to commend you and your Foundation, Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, for the faith you continue to have in Nigeria.
 
"Maybe seeking how to be better and more serviceable to the nation and humanity is also a form of penitence and soul-searching to give conscience a relief and to show remorse.”
 
He added: “I wish you well as you continue to forge ahead with your activities in the coming months and years. If there is any area you feel I can be of help, you should not hesitate to call on me.”
 
His letter, dated October 12, 2015, is a response to the September 22 letter from Jonathan.
 
Jonathan had said, among others things: “I will be devoting the rest of my life and energy to making the world a better place. I am currently finalising efforts to set up
 
“The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation. More details on the work of the foundation will be available at the launch, which I believe should take place by the 3rd quarter of 2016.
 
“As I start this new phase of my life of renewed service to humanity, I look forward to your continuous support, counsel and cooperation.”
 
In reply, Obasanjo charged Jonathan to show some remorse in the use of his foundation which is due for inauguration in 2016 for service to humanity.

“I write to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of September 22, 2015. I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your successful handover to the current President of Nigeria, H.E. President Muhammadu Buhari.

I am happy to note that you had a good rest and time with your family during the break. I hope you also had time to reflect and see what lessons you have learned and what you can bequeath to others. All of us who have had experience in our service to the nation and to humanity must not put it under the bushel.

I have to commend you and your Foundation, Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, for the faith you continue to have in Nigeria. Maybe seeking how to be better and more serviceable to the nation and humanity is also a form of penitence and soul-searching to give conscience a relief and to show remorse.

Dear Baba,

On Friday, 29th May, 2015, I completed my term of office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and successfully handed over government to President Muhammadu Buhari. I immediately proceeded on a long deserved break. I have enjoyed a delightful time with my family and close friends.

Now, well rested, I am back to work; to continue to serve and dedicate my life to promoting peace and prosperity for all. I have set up an office in my home state of Bayelsa, where I can be reached and members of my staff are poised to serve you and respond to your enquiries at all times.

Furthermore, I will be devoting the rest of my life and energy to making the world a better place. I am currently finalizing efforts to set up The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation. More details on the work of the foundation will be available at the launch, which I believe should take place by the 3rd quarter of 2016.

The alleged Niger Delta militant killed by the Army on Friday   This is the photos of a Niger Delta militant killed by the Nigerian Army in Bakassi, Cross River State during a gun battle on Friday.   The Army had reported that its troops at the early hours of Friday, repelled an attack on its soldiers by killing seven armed militants at Efut Esighi in Bakassi local government area of Cross River State.     Capt. A statue of Jesus in Korea is causing a lot of reaction on social media because of its unusual depiction of the Christ.     This photo above has caused ripples online after it emerged recently.   The cause of reaction is the unsually muscular depiction of Jesus. Police officer who made headlines for helping initiate the processes that led to the rescue of the schoolgirls kidnapped in Lagos has been honoured    Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau and CSP Abba Kyari   Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, on Friday, March 31, honoured CSP Abba Kyari, the police officer who was behind the team that led the Special Intelligence Response Team that rescued the 3 abducted school girls in Ikorodu, with a Presidential Award for Courage.   It will be recalled that CSP Kyari led the operation that rescued the kidnappedgirls on March 6th.   CSP Kyari also led the team that rescued the mother of Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, who was abducted in Delta state in 2012.   It is an honour well deserved.   See more photos below:
