Sugabelly Rape Scandal: Read What Abike Dabiri, Oby Ezekwesili plans to do to Mustapha Audu
The topic on everyone’s lips at the moment and across all social media platforms in Nigeria is none other than the Rape scandal that hovers over the head of the family of Late Prince Audu Abubakar and a young woman named Sugabelly. In an earlier post this morning, we detailed how Sugabelly publicly opened a can of worms in the run-in to the forthcoming Kogi state supplementary elections.
According to the young woman who has now become a viral twitter sensation, Mustapha Audu (The first son of Prince Audu) together with some of his brothers and friends had repeatedly gang raped her when she was just a teenager. She was also the subject of an alleged blackmail; as she was threatened with force and more if she ever opened up to anyone about the ongoing harrasment.
Her story has gotten a lot of sympathy today and many have rallied around in support of her imminent legal fight against the culprit with the #IStandWithSugabelly hashtag.
Top among her supporters is former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili. she also drew the sympathy of former member of the Nigeria Federal House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri and award winning journalist, Funmi Iyanda.
Here are some tweets from them
