The Nigerian Police has unveiled a new prerequisite for entry into the Force for all intending candidate.
The Police Force has said the National Identity Card is one major prerequsite for entry into the force.
The Deputy Inspector General, Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID), Area 10, Mr Christopher Kakwe, has said anybody without evidence of enrollment with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) will not be considered for employment into the force.
The DIG, who stated this at the NIMC-BVN press conference, held in Abuja, commended the federal government’s decision for other data capturing agencies to key into the NIMC database.
He said: “We have decided at the police management team that for any recruitment, you have to show evidence that you have registered with NIMC before we can even think about screening you.
“This initiative, which the federal government has directed other agencies to key into, is very vital to our very existence as a nation”.
The AIG implored other agencies to do the same so that the nation would have specific data at the end of the day.
