UK has revealed that it is in constant communication with the director of Radio Biafra who is being held in connection to treasonable charges by the Nigerian government. Nnamdi Kanu A spokesman for the British High Commission, Mr. Joe Abuku, said this in an email sent to PUNCH correspondent on Friday. Abuku said this in response to an email regarding Kanu’s letter to the High Commission. The statement read, “We have provided assistance to Mr. Kanu since his arrest in October last year, including visiting him regularly in prison and attending court appearances in an observation capacity.” The detained Biafran agitator, who is also a British citizen, had written a letter through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, that the British government should not abandon him. The vehicle conveying the students    A ghastly motor accident has claimed the lives of 14 students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan according to wide reports from the students of the school. The accident occurred at about 6pm on Monday, 8th of January along Oyo/Ibadan Expressway. The accident involved a Hummer Bus of the Quantity Surveying Department of the institution which was conveying some students and staff of the department to Oyo state on an academic trip.   It was gathered that the tyre of the 18- seater bus burst in motion and the bus somersaulted.
