Tompolo Begs, Says He Never Gave Buhari Ultimatum to Withdraw Soldiers

Former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on Monday has denied claims he issued any ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw military from the region or he would blow up oil pipelines. 
 
Speaking through his Media Adviser, Mr. Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo said the statement of threat was false. He begged those trying to pull him down to stop as his God is not asleep.
 
“We wish to state categorically that the said publication is not from Tompolo, rather it is the work of those that have sworn to kill him by all means, but Jehovah God forbid. Tompolo has stated before now, that he will not resort to violence or destroy oil facilities because of the issue he is having with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 
“No amount of provocation and persecution can make him to destroy the country that he has helped to build in recent time. He will wisely continue to pursue his course legally.
 
“It is his (Tompolo) prayer for those that are pushing for his death to have a re-think as he believes fervently in Jehovah God, Who sees the heart of every human being, knows that he has no evil intention against Nigeria or any individual.Therefore, he will come out stronger in the face of these temptations and trials,” he said

Lagos to Impose Death Sentence on Kidnappers

Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode Lagos State Government may soon join the growing number of states including Edo, Ogun and Anambra that have imposed death sentence on kidnappers, Vanguard reports. According to a private member bill sponsored by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, “any person, who kidnaps, abducts, detains or captures or takes another person by any means or tricks with intent to demand ransom or do anything against his/her, will commit an offence, and liable to a conviction of death sentence. The bill, which is titled: ‘A bill for a law to provide for the prohibition of the act of kidnapping and for other connected purposes,’ went through a public hearing in the State House of Assembly, yesterday. An artists took a really fatal step to show frustration when no one showed up to see his work on his most important day. Stuart Bennett   An artist, Stuart Bennett, has hanged himself after no one attended the launch of his new art project which he had spent a lot of time on. 58-year-old Bennett, organised an opening day at his studio because he wanted to start teaching art to children. However the event clashed with the town's horticultural show - and nobody came. He then hanged himself out of frustration.
