This is Bad: One Shot Dead as Task Force Demolish Shanties in Lagos Community, Residents Sleep in Canoes (Photos)

    Operatives attached to the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit in company with some marine policemen and hoodlums, have reportedly demolished no fewer than 150 structures on waterfronts in Otondogbame, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.   According to Punch Metro, the operatives stormed the community around 5am on Sunday, shooting indiscriminately, during which a resident, identified as a 20-year-old David Aya, was killed by a stray bullet.   It was gathered that several others, including one Monday Idowu, were also said to have sustained gunshot injuries as the team wet the structures with kerosene and set fire to them.   Photos released online showed that some of the displaced residents, who had yet to find alternative settlements, stayed on boats.     While speaking with a correspondent, a resident identified as Jonathan Zosu, disclosed that the demolition was carried out w...

Mr. Sheriff was sacked at the PDP convention held on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and the National Executive Committee which he headed, replaced with a caretaker committee. The burial of the former governor of Kogi state and candidate of the APC in the inconclusive governorship poll in the state , Prince Abubakar Audu, takes place today at Ogbonicha in Ofu Local Government Area. Audu was buried at 2 pm Monday afternoon. The burial rites were conducted by a team of Imams . Before his burial, men and women of faith engaged in fervent prayers to bring Audu back to life. As the prayers continued, some people started shouting loudly that he had risen. This led to assertions that Audu came back to life. Rumours quickly spread wide.
