  Fooballer Cristiano Ronaldo's £15 million (N6 billion) private jet has crashed while trying to land in Barcelona. The shocking incident happened on Monday evening at the El Prat airport in Barcelona.   According to a  Dailymail report , the footballer was not in the plane when the incident happened. It is understood the plane's landing gear broke on impact, and a runway at the airport was closed.   The pilot was treated for minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt.     The 31-year-old football ace often rents the plane, a Gulfstream G200 which he bought last year, to private clients, and none of the star's friends or family was onboard when the crash happened.   When the crash happened, Ronaldo was in Germany ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League match with Borussia Dortmund where he opened the scoring in the game which finished 2-2.

(Photo by Moses Okeya)   Two members of the Jobless Youth Brotherhood are cooling their heads in police custody after calling the Ugandan Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga a swine. The men have been remanded to Kirinya prison after the Jinja Magistrate’s Court denied them bail.   According to  Daily Monitor , Magistrate John Kagwa agreed with the pleas of the prosecution to deny the two suspects, Mr Augustine Ojobile and Mr Robert Mayanja bail.    The prosecution says the duo are not trustworthy, considering their history of trouble making and the judge agreed with the prosecution to remand the duo.    The two were arrested on charges of inciting violence and defamation. They will now appear in court again next Thursday to answer to the charges.   The suspects were arrested last week after calling Ms Kadaga a pig while on a radio talk show.

  A Nigerian militant group claimed an attack on Thursday on a crude pipeline operated by state oil firm Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in the Niger Delta.   Attacks on Nigeria's energy facilities by groups calling for the Delta region to receive a greater share of the OPEC member's oil wealth have cut crude production, which stood at 2.1 million barrels per day at the start of the year, by a third.   The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate said it bombed the Unenurhie-Evwreni delivery line in Ughelli, Delta state, at around 01:00 a.m. (0000 GMT) on Thursday. The line is operated by NPDC, a subsidiary of NNPC.   A military source said dynamite was used to blow up the pipeline. An NNPC spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.   It comes days after Niger Delta Avengers, which has claimed responsibility for most of the attacks on energy facilities in the region since the start of the year, said it carried out its first attack

File photo   Some female travelers have been r*ped to coma by gunmen who attacked their bus along the Enugu -9th Mile – Makurdi Expressway.   The gunmen carried out the attack at the early hours of Thursday.   According to Daily Post, the heavily armed gunmen ambushed the fully loaded luxurious bus heading from Aba to Yola around 2am, few kilometres to the Pepsi bottling company in 9th Mile, Enugu State.   It was observed that the victims, numbering over 50, were robbed of their money and other valuables.   The four tyres of the bus, belonging to a popular transport company, were deflated and the passengers were left stranded in the middle of the road.   The Enugu State Police Command could not be reached for comment at the time of this report
