INEC Makes Important Announcement Over the Results of Edo Guber Election


 
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on Nigerians to disregard results being posted on the social media on the Edo State governorship election.
 
The Commission added that only results released by the it or its designated officials are genuine.

“It has come to the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission that some persons, especially on social media have started publishing result of the Edo governorship election, such result should be disregarded as only INEC or its designated officials can do so,” INEC said in a tweet.
 
According to Punch, voting has been concluded and ballot papers have been sorted and counted at many polling units across the state, but INEC has yet to start the collation of results

  Idowu    Fikayo Idowu, a footballer of Nigerian descent, has died.   According to The Columbus Dispatch, Idowu hung out with friends on Thursday night and heard that they had planned to go swimming in a lake 40 miles northeast of Columbus on Friday. That was the last his friend Jensen, a fellow Ohio State University player, heard of him.   The following day, a Saturday, Jensen, while picking up another friend, got a call that Idowu died the night before; he drowned while swimming with friends.   “I knew a few people had been invited,”  Jensen, told the press.  “I just figured I’d stay home. See How Much Petrol Sells in 15 States Across Nigeria

  It has been revealed that in spite of the federal government’s assurance that the price of petrol will reduce from N145 per litre, it actually sold above the price in 15 states of the federation, last September.   Vanguard reports that this was revealed by a data from the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.   According to the NBS, Cross River State led the price table with N154.6, followed by Kaduna, which had N151.8, while Kogi occupied the third position with the price of N150.4.   In Enugu State, petrol was sold at N148.7, while it was sold at N148.5 in Borno and N148 per litre in Kebbi State during the period under review. In Ebonyi State, it was sold at N147.6, while it sold at N147.2 in Bayelsa, N147.1 in Abia, N147 in Nassarawa, N146.5 in Kwara, N146.4 in Plateau and Benue, N146.3 in Niger, N146.1 in Imo and N145.6 per litre in Gombe State.   However, Akwa Ibom State recorded the lowest price of N142.5 per litre.   The NBS...
