N5m Grand Prize, New Car & Record Deal for Okiemute as the Winner of MTN Project Fame (Photos)


 
25-year-old Okiemute Ighorodje, was on Sunday, September 25, crowned the winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 9 as she smiled home with a grand price of N5 million, a brand new SUV, and a multi-million music recording contract.
 
The Linguistics & Communications graduate from University of Port Harcourt, who emerged winner after the 8-week highly competitive contest that saw good performances by many of the contestants, performed Phyno‘s hit song “Fada Fada” during the closing gala before she was crowned.
 

 
The first runner up was Elizabeth, who performed Tiwa Savage‘s “Standing Ovation”. She got N3million and a saloon car.
 
The second runner up was Kitay, who performed Kiss Daniels‘ “Mama”. He got N2million and a saloon car.
 
Pere who sang Sam Smith‘s “Writing on the Wall” came fourth and went home with N2million.
 

 
The fifth position went to Dapo, who sang Labrinth‘s “Jealous”. He went home with N1million.
 
Winner sang Adele‘s “Hello”. She came sixth and went home with N500,000.
 
There were performances by YBNL singer Adekunle Gold, and dance instructor, Loveth.

Kashamu's Extradition: AGF, Senate, NDLEA Agree

There is a new twist to the extradition plan by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to hand over the Senator Buruji Kashamu to United States authorities for drug related charges. Senator Buruji Kashamu   The senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu, has received the backing of the the Senate, Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the authorities of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to halt his extradition plan to the United States.   This came after Kashamu’s lawyer, Ajibola Oluyede, had in a petition to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, claimed that NDLEA operatives had perfected strategies to forcefully take him to the US in order to answer drug related charges.   He had begged the Senate to mandate the both the NDLEA and the office of the Attorney-General to drop the alleged plan and follow the rule of law in prosecuting Kashamu.   Addressing...

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State has suffered a set back as two former commissioners, Local government Chairmen and two former Lawmakers defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC.    They claimed that over 5000 of former PDP chieftains dumped the ruling party for the opposition Party according to the Vanguard. EFCC Finally Releases Senator Omisore

Senator Iyiola Omisore After 19 days in detention, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission released a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore.   It was learnt that Omisore was released on bail on Friday by the commission after meeting his bail conditions, Punch reports. The former deputy governor, who was declared wanted by the EFCC in May, was arrested on July 3, 2016 after N1.310bn was traced to the accounts of five companies allegedly belonging to him The money was said to be part of the N4.7bn allegedly disbursed by a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and his two sons, Gbolahan and Babajide The N4.7bn was said to have emanated from the account of the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 and then transferred to the Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara, a company in which Obanikoro’s sons are the signatories to its bank account.
