Gov. Okorocha Gifts Exotic Cars to Paralympians for Winning Gold

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has honoured three Imo State indigenes who won gold medals in power lifting for Team Nigeria at the just concluded Rio 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 
 
The governor rewarded each of the victorious Paralympians with a brand new car and the sum of one million naira each. He also extended his magnanimity to some of the coaches who have brought honour to the state.
 
 
The medalists who broke world records on their way to winning gold medals include; Roland Ezurike, Nwosu Ndidi and Orji Josephine Precious.
 
The Honourable Commissioner for Public Safety, Youth and Sports, Rodney Ajaelu had on arrival at the Government House presented the 3 gold medalists to the governor for recognition.

Explosion Rocks Shell Trunkline in Ogoniland, Rivers State (Photos)

Trunkline explosion in Goi community   A trunk line which belongs to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) carrying crude oil in the Goi community in the Ogoniland area of Rivers State was engulfed in fire and flames on Monday morning.    An environmental activist, Celestine Akpobari, who visited the site, disclosed that the inferno occurred just a few meters away from a military surveillance post. The Nigerian army has announced the demise of a soldier in the course of a victorious confrontation against the Boko Haram terrorist in the north-east.   In continuation with the clearance of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 153 Task Force Brigade, 5 Brigade on Monday had an encounter with terrorists at Musari village on Monday.   During the clearance operations, a soldier paid the supreme price, while the troops killed 58 terrorist and recovered 2 hand grenades, 52 motorcycles, several bags of foodstuffs such as beans, onions, sweet potatoes and guinea corn, as well as cartons of fish.

Man Beheads His Own Mom on Mother's Day

Josh Webb killed his mother   Police in Oregon say a man entered a grocery store over the weekend while carrying the severed head of his mother before allegedly stabbing a cashier seven times.   According to Inside Edition, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Josh Webb and charged him with murder and attempted murder after the horrific scene unfolded at the Estacada Thriftway outside Portland.   In a 911 call placed at about 2 p.m. Sunday, the caller reported a male had entered the store, soaked in blood and holding a knife and what looked like a human head.   Before the shock had a chance to register with witnesses, the scene somehow grew more terrifying as cops say the assailant stabbed a cashier multiple times with the bloody knife, according to KGW.    In a subsequent 911 call, a witness told the operator that employees had restrained the assailant and requested medical help for the victim.   Minut...
