Notorious and Wanted Nigerian Drug Lord Arrested

A Nigerian drug baron has been arrested in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon after he had secretly made his way into the country.
 
According to The Kenyans, Mr Emmanuel Peter Lovembe, who was deported from Kenya in 2013 on Presidential orders, was nabbed by police officers in Kayole Estate. He has been handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) and the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) for interrogation.
 
In June 2013, Lovembe was arrested and deported together with controversial businessman Anthony Chinedu for involvement in narcotics trafficking under the President's order.
 
However, Lovembe sneaked into the country three months later and was arrested in Donholm estate.
 
He was arrested together with a Kenyan woman, Ms Virginia Wakini who had just arrived from Tanzania via Namanga border when police raided their house.
 
Lovembe confessed that he used different identification documents to enter the country and was helped by Wakini.

Naira Recovers Against the Dollar in the Parallel Market...See Current Value

The naira has resumed its recovery against the dollar in the black market after suffering a setback.   There are strong indications that the efforts of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stabilise the naira may have started yielding the expected results according to the Leadership. A CBN official last week noted that the deployment of a number measures by the bank may have turned the tide in the foreign exchange (FOREX) market and led to the severe punishment suffered by currency hoarders and speculators. The CBN had earlier insisted that speculators were behind the market bubble since the upper week which dealt negatively on the naira, sending it down to an all-time low of almost N400 to the dollar.
