Photos from the '1 Million March' for APC Candidate, Godwin Obaseki

 
A Million March was held today, 26th of September at the Edo State capital in Benin city for the APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki ahead of Edo state governorship election which is less than 48hrs away.
 
Several pressure groups and trade unions poured out en masse to support Obaseki who has received impressive endorsements ahead of the election on the 28th of September, 2016.
 
It is not clear if the crowd was able to hit the one million benchmark as they looked scantily far from the figure.

Good Deed: Police Officer Who Rescued the Kidnapped Lagos Schoolgirls Gets Presidential Honour (Photos)

Police officer who made headlines for helping initiate the processes that led to the rescue of the schoolgirls kidnapped in Lagos has been honoured    Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau and CSP Abba Kyari   Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, on Friday, March 31, honoured CSP Abba Kyari, the police officer who was behind the team that led the Special Intelligence Response Team that rescued the 3 abducted school girls in Ikorodu, with a Presidential Award for Courage.   It will be recalled that CSP Kyari led the operation that rescued the kidnappedgirls on March 6th.   CSP Kyari also led the team that rescued the mother of Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, who was abducted in Delta state in 2012.   It is an honour well deserved.   See more photos below:

Tanker Filled With Fuel Explodes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

  The tanker exploded around Mowe-Ibafo, Ogun State.   Many people have been feared killed and several others trapped in the incident.   The explosion which occurred at about 1am on Wednesday was said to have affected mostly residents who went to scoop petrol from a fallen tanker.   It was gathered that the explosion resulted to heavy gridlock on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, forcing people to flee their vehicles.   The Nation reports that many vehicles were engulfed by the fire.   More details later.

Terrorist Group Plots to Bomb the University of Ibadan

  There was tension in the University of Ibadan on Friday as a threatening message that purportedly emanated from a group, al-wilayat al-Islamiyya Gharb Afriqiyyah, was circulated among some staff of the institution and on social media platforms, according to the Punch. According to the message, the group threatened to bomb the school before Independence Day on October 1, 2016, saying that students and staff were their targets. When contacted, The Director of Communication, UI, Olatunji Oladejo, dismissed the threat, saying it was the handiwork of mischievous individuals who wanted to cause commotion in the school. A Punch correspondent gathered that while some lecturers got the mail through their institutional e-mail addresses, others were copied through social platforms such as Whatsapp. In the mail, the group described the university as an embarrassment to Nigeria for bringing western education. The girls were tricked into flashing their breasts for $100    A prankster has shared hilarious video of girls flashing their boobs for $100. The video which was uploaded on YouTube channel called PrankGenerator shows the host asking a lot of ladies in the street to show their boobs on camera for $100.      Although some were shy, they agreed but to their surprise, the money wasn't real and the whole thing was a set up prank. Jibrin Begs DSS to Arrest Speaker Dogara

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara   House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin has written a letter asking the Department of State Services to arrest the Speaker Yakubu Dogara and some of the principal membes of the House after implicating them in fraud.   "The House of Representatives under the disgraced Speaker Dogara truly has no shame.
