1) Manchester United can become the first Premier League club to score 2000 points in the history of the Premier League. They're 48 points off the total ahead of the start of 2016-17.

2) Philipp Lahm (481) can reach the 500 appearance mark for Bayern Munich.

3) Cristiano Ronaldo (93) can become the first player to score 100 Champions League/European Cup goals.

4) Everton midfielder Gareth Barry (595) would surpass Ryan Giggs (632) in the Premier League's all-time appearance ranking if he plays every game this season.

5) Francesco Totti (248) can reach the 250-goal mark in Serie A. Only Silvio Piola (274) has scored more times in the Italian top flight

6) Wayne Rooney (245) is just four goals away from equalling Manchester United's all-time goal record currently held by club legend Sir Bobby Charlton (249).

7) Real Madrid (6) share the record for consecutive Champions League semi-finals with Barcelona but can go outright top if they reach that stage again.

8) Lionel Messi (456) could become the first Barcelona player to score 500 goals for the club in competitive matches.

9) On October 1, Arsene Wenger will become only the second coach to reach the 20-year coaching milestone in English football since the Premier League era began in 1992.

10) Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti is bidding to become the first coach to win the Champions League four times.

11) Edinson Cavani (81) could become only the fourth player to reach the 100-goal mark for PSG.

12) If Manchester United win the Premier League, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will finish top of the league table for the 14th time in 16 years – a total unsurpassed at the top level in recent memory. England would be the fifth country that he's won a league title in after the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France.

13) Both Lionel Messi (22) and Cristiano Ronaldo (26) could surpass Ryan Giggs' record (30) of assists in the Champions League.
14) Gianluigi Buffon (589) can reach the 600 appearance mark in Serie A. Only Paolo Maldini (647), Javier Zanetti (615), Francesco Totti (601) and Gianluigi Pagliuca (592) have turned out more times than him so far.
15) Juventus can become the first club in Serie A history to win six consecutive league titles.
16) Paris Saint-Germain could break the 100-point barrier for the first time in 2016-17 having finished on 96 points last season.

17) Cristiano Ronaldo (364) can reach the 400-goal mark for Real Madrid in 2016-17.
