#FootballNews: Manchester United manager Mourinho opens up about Schweinsteiger's future




Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed Bastian Schweinsteiger is not in his plans at Old Trafford.
The German midfielder has been training with the reserves since returning to Carrington following Euro 2016.
He was not included in the squad to play Galatasaray or Everton, along with Adnan Januzaj, Andreas Pereira and Paddy McNair.
And Mourinho has confirmed they are not in his plans as he looks to trim his squad.
He said: "I think what is happening is happening in every club in the world which is the manager decides his squad and chooses a certain number of players to face the season and that's it.
"I normally like to work with 20 players plus the three goalkeepers which is what I do for 15 years because we have so many players but at the same time we also have so many competition and especially the Europa League is a competition that changes a lot of the season.
"You can play 15 matches, you play on the Thursday, you have a big risk, travel a lot, normally you are going to play the Premier League on the Sunday so I made the decision to be with 23 players plus three goalkeepers which I think is still a lot and I had to make my decisions."Wayne Rooney talks about what Jose Mourinho is like in the changing roomVIDEO LOA

  It has been revealed that in spite of the federal government’s assurance that the price of petrol will reduce from N145 per litre, it actually sold above the price in 15 states of the federation, last September.   Vanguard reports that this was revealed by a data from the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.   According to the NBS, Cross River State led the price table with N154.6, followed by Kaduna, which had N151.8, while Kogi occupied the third position with the price of N150.4.   In Enugu State, petrol was sold at N148.7, while it was sold at N148.5 in Borno and N148 per litre in Kebbi State during the period under review. In Ebonyi State, it was sold at N147.6, while it sold at N147.2 in Bayelsa, N147.1 in Abia, N147 in Nassarawa, N146.5 in Kwara, N146.4 in Plateau and Benue, N146.3 in Niger, N146.1 in Imo and N145.6 per litre in Gombe State.   However, Akwa Ibom State recorded the lowest price of N142.5 per litre.   The NBS...

  Idowu    Fikayo Idowu, a footballer of Nigerian descent, has died.   According to The Columbus Dispatch, Idowu hung out with friends on Thursday night and heard that they had planned to go swimming in a lake 40 miles northeast of Columbus on Friday. That was the last his friend Jensen, a fellow Ohio State University player, heard of him.   The following day, a Saturday, Jensen, while picking up another friend, got a call that Idowu died the night before; he drowned while swimming with friends.   “I knew a few people had been invited,”  Jensen, told the press.  “I just figured I’d stay home.
