#FootballNews : Manchester United Pogba transfer delayed and more rumours

Paul Pogba will officially become a Manchester United player but Juventus are reportedly delaying the move until they have a replacement.

Pogba is due to fly back to Europe this weekend (everyone thought he was en route last week but he jetted off to New York) and Jose Mourinho claimed Pogba could join United by Monday.

Mourinho was asked if supporters could expect a signing over the next few days and replied: "Yes we have 22 now and we are going to have 23."

The United manager again refused to be drawn specifically on Pogba.

"You are right I don't like to speak about other clubs," he added. "I don't like to speak about players from other clubs, other managers like to do that, they like to speak about my club and my players, I'm very pragmatic on this.

"The only thing that matters for me is what's happening in my house, not my neighbours's. Pogba is a Juventus player and until officially he isn't, we stay like this.

"But honestly, the market closes on August 31 but I think my club is trying to do everything to close our market before August 14 [date of Bournemouth Premier League opener], so normally next week we will have our squad closed."

Juve apparently want a man in before Pogba goes - even though they have spent much of the summer making signings to offset the Frenchman's inevitable departure. Blaise Matuidi - who was United's fallback option if a move for Pogba collapsed - is an option.

Pogba and Matuidi might both be on the move

Handily, United and Juve are both playing in London tomorrow.
A Premier League club has made a £72million offer for James Rodriguez so, inevitably, United are mooted as said club.

While Premier League interest in Rodriguez is hardly a surprise, United are unlikely to be the bidders. If they make a fifth senior signing this summer, it will almost certainly be a defender.

In case you missed it, Joshua Bohui has joined United from Brentford and Sam Johnstone's brother, Max, is on trial.

And Bastian Schweinsteiger is unlikely to play for United again.
