#OccupyNASS: Youths Lock Down National Assembly

Youths under the aegis of Occupy National Assembly, on Tuesday, besieged the premises of the federal parliament and demanded the immediate resignation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The youths comprising of various Civil Society Organisations and students also asked the 36 senators who had so far collected their own exotic jeeps to return them immediately or face the wrath of Nigerians.
 
According to Punch, the angry protesters marched from the Unity Fountain within the Central Area of the city to the National Assembly, a journey of about two kilometers and forced their way to the main gate, defiling all security network mounted by regular and riot police officers.
 
The youths forced the main gate closed thereby preventing staff, lawmakers and visitors from either entering or leaving the premises.
 
The protesters, armed with placards containing various inscriptions, vowed to seal off the federal parliament for the initial three days to see whether their demands would be met. The protest paralyzed all activities in the National Assembly and vowed to continue until all their demands were fully met.

The vehicle conveying the students    A ghastly motor accident has claimed the lives of 14 students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan according to wide reports from the students of the school. Niger Delta Avengers   Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Delta, Commodore Joseph Dzunve, has disclosed that the suspected serial pipeline vandal and strike force leader of the Niger Delta Avengers was been arrested by the Nigerian Navy around Sapele Council Area of Delta State.   According to the commander, the suspect identified as Abraham Suru also known as Gabon from Ondo State, was arrested weeks after he had been declared wanted by the Nigerian military for being responsible incessant attacks on oil and gas facilities within Warri North and South-West Council Areas of the state.   Commodore Dzunve who said the suspect was arrested Tuesday 20 September, 2016 around Sapele where he had been hiding, noted that Gabon’s arrest was part of intense efforts by the Navy through the Operation Delta Safe (ODS) to flush out militants and other criminal elements from the region.   According to  Punch Newspaper...
