Court Grants Reopen Bianca’s Case

A request by the widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, Bianca, to re-open her evidence-in-chief, in the suit she filed against her husband’s family was, on Tuesday, granted by a Lagos High Court, Igbosere.

Mrs. Ojukwu had, on behalf of her two under-aged children, Afamefuna and Nwachukwu (claimants), dragged Ojukwu Transport Limited (OTL) and seven others before the court over an alleged move by the family to eject her sons from the company’s property located in Lagos.

The company (OTL) and its property belong to father of the late Biafra warlord.

Other defendants in the suit are Prof Joseph Ojukwu, Engr. Emmanuel Ojukwu; Lotanna Putalora Ojukwu; Dr. Patrick Ojukwu; Arch. Edward Ojukwu; Lota Akajiora Ojukwu and Mrs Massey Udegbe (doing business under Massey Udegbe & Company).

Suspected kidnappers on Saturday abducted and killed the newly appointed transition committee chairman of Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.   According to family sources who spoke to PremiumTimes on Saturday, the newly appointed transition committee chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, Hosea Azi was kidnapped on Friday evening along Miango road, in Kufang, near former NYSC Secretariat in Jos South Local Government Area of the state. Some adulterated drinks in the class of Hennessy, Red Label and a host of others well-patronized in Nigeria have been seized in the South-south part of the country, Edo state. Some of the seized drinks The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has seized about 20 cartons of different brands of popular alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, from 12 shops at Upper Sakponba, Mission Road and vegetable market, off Airport Road. Test kits were used to ascertain the wholesomeness of the processed drinks. A Chief Regulatory Officer in the Enforcement and Operations unit of the agency, Joseph Idowu, decried the prevalence of fake and badly processed drinks in Benin. A pharmacist, Godwin Okonufia, who was part of the NAFDAC enforcement team, pointed out that the consumption of counterfeit drinks could cause kidney problems.
