Justice Umar Makes TWO Major Rules at the CCT

The trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal resumed today with a change of rules and regulations during the case hearing for the purpose of orderliness.

CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar introduced 2 new rules to the trial . The rules are :

(1) Use of camera phones and iPads are now prohibited.
 
(2) All security men with rifles in the courtroom would henceforth stay outside the courtroom.
 
Rumours have it that the decision must have been arrived at to reduce the activities of pressmen saturating the online media with diverse reports during the legal proceeding especially the confrontation between the Judge and lawyer to Saraki, Oluyede which went viral on social media.

Nigerian Army Recovers Heavy Arms and Ammunition in a Coffin at a Checkpoint (Photos)

Vigilant Nigerian soldiers intercepted some heavy arms and ammunition concealed in a coffin to beat security intelligence at an undisclosed part of Nigeria.   Facebook user, name Bello Abdulrasheed Afolabi shared a disturbing report of how the Nigerian troops stationed at a checkpoint nabbed some criminals involved in arms trafficking.   The weapons were concealed in a coffin as they pretended to be headed for a burial ceremony.   Read the words of the news poster:   "Ladies and gentle men of the house just take a look at what Army personal recovered yesterday on check points. Explosion Rocks Shell Trunkline in Ogoniland, Rivers State (Photos)

Trunkline explosion in Goi community   A trunk line which belongs to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) carrying crude oil in the Goi community in the Ogoniland area of Rivers State was engulfed in fire and flames on Monday morning.    An environmental activist, Celestine Akpobari, who visited the site, disclosed that the inferno occurred just a few meters away from a military surveillance post. According to her, the fire immediately followed the sound of an eruption affecting the Agbada/Bomu trunk line.   "Goi, another Ogoni community, is on fire this early morning from an eruption on the 28-inch Agbada/Bomu trunkline belonging to Shell, which is just a few meters from the surveillance post. ISIS May Attack Nigeria Soon - Expert Raises Alarm

An expert has called on the Federal Government to put security measures in place to forestall possible attacks by ISIS on Nigeria.   A security expert, Ona Ekhomu has raised an alarm concerning a terror attack that is about to happen in Nigeria.   According to the Punch, Ekhomu implored the federal government to take issues of tackling insurgency in the country very serious.     The expert said rather that wait for the attack to occur just like it recently did in Paris, France, the federal government should call on Nigerians who can help forestall it.   Ekhomu, who is the President of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria, in a statement on Monday, said recent intelligence intercepts indicated that an ISIS attack on Nigeria was imminent.   He said:  “ISIS could use its Nigerian affiliate, Boko Haram, to wreak havoc here in order to signal its capability to carry out worldwide terroris...

President Buhari   In a statement issued on Wednesday by Segun Adeyemi, the special adviser to Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, the President Buhari-led federal government has appointed Bayo Onanuga, editor-in-chief of TheNews, as the managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).   In all, six new chief executives have been appointed to replace those who were disengaged in some parastatals of the federal ministry of information and culture on February 15th 2016.   The new Chief Executives are:   1.
