Troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion who were deployed at an observation post in the early hours of June 22, sighted a group of persons approaching its check point at Liwanti village along Damboa-Bulabulin road, Borno State.

On arrival, they were received and treated humanely based on International Humanitarian Laws and Rules of Engagement.

However, after preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the 69 of them were indeed family members of Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Sambisa.

Out of that number, 7 of them are men, 18 women, 7 grown up boys and 37 children.

At the initial state of interrogation, they claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists captivity at Ngwalimari village in Sambisa forest general area, but further interrogation revealed they were actual family members.

The troops recovered 15 bicycles, 5 Dane Guns and other personal effects from them and further/thorough investigation is ongoing to ascertain other information from them.

Deeper Life Church Ordered to Pay Celestial Church N5million

The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division has ordered the Registered Trustees of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) to pay N5 million as damages for trespass on land owned by the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC). This means that the Appeal Court upheld an earlier judgement by a Lagos High Court. It was gathered that the CCC had, through its representative, Joseph Ebhodaghe, sued DCLM over a disputed land measuring approximately 1055.864 square meters, situated at Mulero area of Agege and registered as No. 75 Volume 2004T at the Lagos State Land Registry, Ikeja. At the High Court, Justice Candide-Johnson in a judgment delivered on January 17, 2014, declared Celestial Church as the rightful owner of the disputed land and awarded N5m as damages against Deeper Life. Three young men suspected to be members of the dreaded One Million Boys armed-robbery gang have been arrested by the police as they planned to rob a church during night vigil.
