Notorious Armed Robber Burnt to Death in Calabar (Photo)

 
We earlier reported about a notorious armed robber who was burnt to death in Calabar on Tuesday 21st June 2016 along mount Zion road, Calabar South, Cross River State.
 
The man was among a five-man robbery gang that robbed the area yesterday. While his other gang members escaped, luck ran out on him as he was caught by the angry mob and lynched before he was burnt to death.

Gunmen Abducted Paramount Ruler’s Pregnant Wife

Chief Asuquo Abia, the Secretary, Traditional Rulers Council, Esit Eket, told NAN in Esit Eket on Saturday that the gunmen invaded the palace of the paramount ruler in the wee hours of Friday morning. No fewer than 10 unknown gunmen on Friday night kidnapped the pregnant wife of Ubong Assam, the paramount ruler of Esit Eket in Akwa Ibom. The gunmen also abducted the four children of the traditional ruler. Abia, who is also the Village Head of Afaha Akpenedi, said the gunmen shot sporadically for over five hours from 1.30 a.m. to 6 a.m. “The gunmen destroyed part of the palace with dynamites and broke into all the rooms and carted away valuables,’’ he said. The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State has suffered a set back as two former commissioners, Local government Chairmen and two former Lawmakers defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC.    They claimed that over 5000 of former PDP chieftains dumped the ruling party for the opposition Party according to the Vanguard. Anxiety has beset the social media following the shocking disclosure of the death of Kogi state APC governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu.   The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate of the Kogi State governorship election, Alhaji Abubakar Audu who was leading in the election, is dead.
