Gov. Okorocha & Ike Ekweremadu   While speaking on Sunday night at a victory party to celebrate the outcome of the July 23, 2016 rerun election in two constituencies, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, said that Senator Ike Ekweremadu should be warming up to lose his seat as the Deputy Senate President.   The governor who is speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Benjamin Uwajumogu, who contested in last Saturday rerun senatorial election in Imo State, would displace Ekweremadu as soon as he joins the Senate.   According to a report on  Punch Newspaper , he said it would be an aberration for Ekweremadu to still continue to retain his seat as the Deputy Senate President, after Uwajumogu had joined the Senate, adding that with the outcome of the rerun election, Ekweremadu’s seat had come under  “heavy threat.”   The governor who said that Ekweremadu kne...

Chelsea captain John Terry has confirmed that he will miss Wednesday's Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain with a hamstring problem.   Five apps that can help you  keep tabs on your loved ones — for better or for worse   1. Connect   This app for iPhone or iPad can follow your husband, wife, children and even your friends on sites like Facebook FB, Twitter , Instagram, Google Contacts  and LinkedIn. Most social contacts are jumbled and split up across multiple devices, platforms and apps, but this app collects them in one place, says Ryan Allis, Chairman and Co-founder of the app.  “Your Connect map has hundreds of your friends on it the first time you use the app,”  Allis says. Unlike similar apps like Foursquare, it doesn’t use virtual check-ins, which can prompt users to activate their location settings (many people don’t realise that when they turn on location settings on their phone, location information can be embedded in shared photographs and status updates too). What’s more, the other person doesn’t need to have Connect installed or to accept an invitation fro...

8 Types of Men You Will Definitely Meet in Lagos

Image
An interesting and revealing article written by a young, dynamic, and brisk freelance writer/online journalist on the different types of men you are sure to meet in Lagos. Nigerian celebrities in traditional attires for Jude Okoye & Ifeoma Michelle Umoeokeke's Traditional Wedding    A few nights ago at Bay lounge, I sat with my girls, Ure, Ulo and Ij who had just come in from the US to Nigeria for the holiday. There was also Toyin and Nonye who are full-time Lagos residents like me; and as you would guess (seeing as we were all single, independent women *bite me*), we started on the topic of men… and before long, we zeroed in on the unique men of Lagos. By the time we had dished on our experiences, Ulo could only exclaim: “It’s almost epidemic how many unsuitable characters are roaming this city”, and she is totally right.   It is amazing to me that in a city where men and women interact all the time — and seem to be having the time of their lives — s...
