Duncan Mighty who is widely recognised as one of the most significant pop artistes from Rivers State has alleged to have had a meeting with the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.
 
The singer shared the photo himself with some members of the Nigerian Army right after the said meeting on his Instagram page.

Gunmen Abducted Paramount Ruler’s Pregnant Wife

Chief Asuquo Abia, the Secretary, Traditional Rulers Council, Esit Eket, told NAN in Esit Eket on Saturday that the gunmen invaded the palace of the paramount ruler in the wee hours of Friday morning. No fewer than 10 unknown gunmen on Friday night kidnapped the pregnant wife of Ubong Assam, the paramount ruler of Esit Eket in Akwa Ibom. The gunmen also abducted the four children of the traditional ruler. Abia, who is also the Village Head of Afaha Akpenedi, said the gunmen shot sporadically for over five hours from 1.30 a.m. to 6 a.m. “The gunmen destroyed part of the palace with dynamites and broke into all the rooms and carted away valuables,’’ he said. He said the gunmen arrived at the palace on Thursday claiming to be policemen from Abuja on an investigation. “They later came back the next day around 1.30 a.m. and shot sporadically till 6 a.m. in the morning,’’ Abia said. A priest has shocked people when it was alleged that he lost all the money meant for refugees while gambling.    Father Amer Saka   Police have launched an investigation into Father Amer Saka,  a Chaldean Catholic priest from London, Ont., after church officials reported more than $500,000 slated for refugee sponsorship was lost to gambling.   According to The Star, Father Amer Saka, a priest working at the St. Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church in London, is under investigation after telling his bishop, Emanuel Shaleta, that funds intended to help new Canadians had instead vanished in vice, Shaleta said.   “He called me on the phone and . . . said he lost all the money. The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State has suffered a set back as two former commissioners, Local government Chairmen and two former Lawmakers defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC.    They claimed that over 5000 of former PDP chieftains dumped the ruling party for the opposition Party according to the Vanguard.
